We do the legwork of finding client enquiries
Finding private clients takes time and money. We invest in national advertising, online marketing, care directories and comparison platforms to bring enquiries to AtHome and help families discover carers like you.
Before sharing an opportunity, we speak with the client, gather an outline of the support they are looking for and bring together the practical details. You can then decide whether you would like to take the conversation further.
Registering gives you:
A free place to advertise your services. Your profile helps clients learn about your experience, skills and the support you offer.
Free client enquiries and introductions. We do not charge carers for these.
Relevant information upfront. We share the client’s outline so you can consider whether an opportunity suits you.
Freedom to choose. You are under no obligation to accept a role.
Your rate. Your earnings.
Clients often have a budget in mind. You discuss the work and agree your rate directly with them, invoice them yourself and receive payment directly.
AtHome does not deduct commission from your agreed care fees.
The client pays AtHome a separate service fee for our introduction and support service. Keeping our overheads down helps us work towards fairer overall costs for clients while supporting fair pay for carers.
How to get started
1. Create a profile that represents you
Register on our platform and add your experience, skills, availability, CV, work history and a clear, friendly photograph. Keep your details current: this is the information that helps clients decide whether to contact you.
2. Upload your supporting documents
You can start registering before uploading everything, but we need your documents and must complete our required checks before you speak with clients. This applies even though you are self-employed.
3. Consider relevant opportunities
When an enquiry matches your profile, experience and availability, we can share the details with you. Let us know whether you are interested.
4. Connect with the client
Clients review suitable profiles and choose who they would like to speak with. We send your Digital ID link manually when a client expresses interest in speaking with you. Once the required checks are complete, you can discuss the role directly and decide together whether you are a good match.
5. Agree the arrangements
If you both wish to proceed, agree the services, rate and practical arrangements directly. We provide template agreements for you and the client to complete. The agreement is between you and the client.
6. Provide your services and invoice directly
Deliver the care you have agreed, invoice your client and receive your care fees directly from them.

AtHome helps with introductions, information, documentation and ongoing administration. This gives clients practical support while they retain control over their choice of carer and their care arrangements.
We do not oversee, control or direct the care you provide.
Questions before you register
Will registering guarantee me work?
No. AtHome is an introductory platform, not your employer. Opportunities depend on client enquiries and suitability, and clients make their own choices. A complete, well-presented profile helps them understand what you can offer.
What types of work does AtHome cover?
We handle enquiries for hourly and daily care, live-in care, overnight support, companionship, respite care and personal assistant services. The opportunities available depend on clients’ locations and requirements.
What documents will I need?
Our checks cover your identity, right to work, appropriate criminal-record documentation and references. We also need your CV and work history, proof of address, and relevant supporting documents such as insurance and training certificates where applicable.
These checks help clients understand who they are speaking with and what information has been verified.
Do I need a DBS check?
Yes. AtHome requires criminal-record documentation appropriate to your role and where you work. Different checking arrangements apply in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Why does my profile still say “incomplete”?
First, check that you have added your CV, work history, photograph and requested documents. Even with those in place, your profile may remain marked as incomplete until a client selects you and your Digital ID check is complete.
The Digital ID link is sent manually when a client would like to speak with you.
Do I need to be self-employed?
Yes. AtHome introduces carers who work on a genuinely self-employed basis. We do not employ carers or provide visa sponsorship.
You can begin your profile while preparing to work for yourself, but you must meet the relevant requirements before an introduction. Your actual working arrangements must reflect genuine self-employment.

Clients want to see your smiling face and hear your voice
Our portal gives you the opportunity to shine with your personal portal, promoting your services 24 hours a day on your behalf. One of your secret tools is the VIDEO - upload a short video selling yourself - clients want to hear and see you and will be more likely to choose you!
Here is the basic registration process:
Upload a CV - our software automatically pulls your experience off your CV - less work for you, but you can type it manually if you wish.
Upload a smiling photo
Answer some questions about your work patterns, hobbies, locations, jobs, etc
Give a short bio text-typed about yourself
Upload a short 20-second video - brilliant for promoting yourself
Once you have done this, then email us at hello@athomecaregroup.co.uk with your documents, or ask for a link to securely upload them to our file storage. We request any documents you believe are relevant, such as qualifications, self-employed carer insurance documents, DBS, Right to Work, ID documents, licences, etc
What is the requirement to register?
When you register your COMPANION profile on our portal, you will require the following :

Converse confidently in both written and spoken English.
Be flexible and reliable.
Be in good physical health.
Provide a DBS (If you don’t have a DBS we can help you apply here ).
Complete our online ID checks (free)
Be happy to upload a photo of yourself and a short video about yourself and your experience.
Be happy to be self-employed
Confirm you have self-employed carer insurance.
In order to register a CARER or PA or Micro Provider profile on our portal, you will be required to meet the following criteria:
You should have a fantastic personality; be happy, chatty, proactive and willing to help.
Have the right to work in the UK. (Find out more info HERE. And find out which documents are acceptable HERE. If you are unsure if you are a British Citizen you can check here.)
Have care experience (preferably in a regulated care setting).
Evidence of any relevant training with certificates.
Converse confidently in both written and spoken English.
Be flexible and willing to work
Have experience in supporting clients with specific needs such as Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s
Happy to work in isolation for long periods with one client and be self-motivated.
Be in good physical health and able to cope with different daily routines and multiple household tasks.
Have cooking skills with previous experience in running or maintaining a home.
Be comfortable with animals and happy to live in a house with pets and care for them.
Hold a valid driving licence (desirable but not compulsory).
Provide your clients with the contact details of two, preferably three professional references.
Have a gentle nature and patient disposition with a natural understanding and a genuine willingness to always go the extra mile for someone in your care.
