We need great carers, companions and personal assistants (PA’s)

We want carers to keep more pay!
We mean it! We DO NOT CHARGE OUR CARERS ANY FEES for introductions to clients.
Many introduction agency charges fees to the carer and/or the client between 20% - 60% of a carer’s wage in profit and costs making the overall cost of care higher and of course this squeezes the carers wage down - we don’t work this way!
Our business ethos is to reduce these costs to pass the savings on to both clients and carers. We invest in our online systems, which lower overheads and allow us to charge an ultra-low fee to the client - the huge difference is passed onto the self employed carer in a higher basic level rate of pay and the rest is passed to the client.
We want carers, companions and PA’s to be motivated to work, rewarded for the great job they do, and in turn, provide great value care and support.
Here are some quick FAQ’s about how we work - please take the time to read them:
How do we work?
We connect self employed carers with clients all over the UK that need care or companionship at home. We are looking for great live in carers, night carers, hourly carers, companion carers and people offering home help and housekeeping services including cleaning services. Everyone is welcome to register if you are looking to help elderly people in their own homes. In order to qualify to en-role on our platform, you will have a DBS (or NI or Scotland Equivalent) and the right to work in the UK and be able to prove your ID. We do not offer sponsorship.
How do you register?
Register with us at https://hire.athomecaregroup.co.uk and create your profile. This is what a client will see when we introduce you, so it is very important that you make sure you are smiling in your photo and your profile is full of your experience. When you register with us, you will give us your contact information, your location and your CV/outline of your experience. You will then be searchable by AtHome Staff and contacted when a suitable role comes available for you. At that point you will be requested to upload your further documents including DBS / ID Passport / CV / Photo / 2 x references / RIGHT TO WORK PROOF / Proof of Address / Optional Video.
So long as you can provide all of the relevant documents, we will conduct an ID check over Whats app or Zoom to ensure your ID matches and then we can introduce you to the client. It is then up to the client if they choose you. We do not choose carers for clients - a client chooses a carer themselves, our role is to short list people who completed a successful registration. This is why it is very important to ensure your profile is as full as possible as the client will look at this to evaluate you.
By registering with us, you are under no obligation to accept any roles, we work differently - we don’t hassle you to take positions you don’t want to, it’s your call who you work with and when, so don’t worry!
When will you be placed in a care role with AtHome?
This completely depends on the clients needs. If you are suitable for the role, you will be notified.
How do you know what roles are available?
You will receive an email when a role is available and you can then email us to express your interest.
You can also check on your dashboard at https://hire.athomecaregroup.co.uk
Do we take a fee from a carer?
No we do not - our service is free for carers
Do carers need their own carer insurance?
We offer an opt in service with FREE carer insurance with MARK BATES. If you are working with AtHome Clients and wish to opt in you can do this monthly to benefit from our free carer insurance cover. This does not cover business car insurance.
Do AtHome train carers?
No we do not oversee or direct care or train carers.
However, we do offer access to FREE accredited Mark Bates training so carers can keep up to date with the latest carer certifications if they would like to do so. As all of our carers are Self-Employed carers, training is of course not mandatory and is offered as an optional opt in if a self employed carer would like to take advantage of the offer.
Whether you have years of experience in a regulated setting or are brand new to caring and want to help your local community as a companion; more than ever, there are people waiting for your help.
Thank you for taking the first step with us and reading this information.
Main career or second job?
AtHome can offer you positions where clients offer highly competitive rates of pay directly to the carer. Higher pay, coupled with the freedom of allowing you to choose where, how, and when you work means we are confident our self-employed opportunities will offer you the ultimate in flexible working.
Flexible caring is fulfilling as a primary career, or as a part-time flexible second job to fit in with children and other commitments. You can decide how much work you want to take on and when. As a Self-employed carer, you are in charge.
How does AtHome work to help carers get more pay, but clients still pay the market rate or below?
We know carers know their job better than anyone and clients know their needs, so we think it’s far better for carers and clients to agree on care provision directly - which means more transparency and less cost to both parties.
A bit more about us…
AtHome does not play an active role in care management. We provide the information, tools, and contracts for clients and carers to manage their care relationships successfully and transparently directly with each other on the portal.
AtHome introduces self-employed carers/companions/PA’s/Micro Providers/housekeepers to clients directly - so it matches carers and clients on a number of factors including job types, interests, reliability, and more saving time and money which we pass on.
Clients post a job and onboarded carers will be matched with the client’s needs and offered the opportunity.
The client then chooses, vets and engages the workers they choose on the platform allowing the client to easily manage the rota and contact all in one place.
Carers can manage their rotas and invoice quickly and easily all within the AtHome portal software or invoice directly and be paid DIRECTLY from the client by bank transfer or by Credit Card on the portal.
This helps you as the carer, companion, or PA to manage and promote the outstanding service you provide whilst receiving some of the best pay rates in the sector.
