Families need great carers who complete care tasks and then go further; they need people who can offer reassurance, patience, dignity, and a steady presence. Choosing the right carer is not just a practical decision. It is an emotional one. It is about personality, competence, understanding, and trust.

A Personal Message from Helen Morgan; Founder and Director of AtHome Care

Finding the right care is not something I understand only through my work. It is something that has touched my own family.

We have experienced first-hand how frightening a condition such as dementia can be, and how the loss of mobility can affect a fiercely independent parent in ways you never anticipated. We have lived through the confusion and anxiety that dementia can bring, the frustrations of navigating care funding, and the emotional impact of mobility restrictions and changing healthcare needs.

These experiences affect not only the person who needs care, but also the family members who love and support them.

AtHome Care Group was created from my family’s own ongoing experiences of care. We continue to rely on excellent self-employed carers to support people we love, so I understand how important it is to find someone who offers more than the basic tasks of personal care. Families are often looking for a genuine personal connection too.

We wanted dignity, friendship, continuity, better value and greater control. We wanted reliable carers who could support our family members with warmth, respect and understanding, while helping them remain comfortable and as independent as possible in their own home.

That experience has shown me how important familiarity and routine can be, and just how much truly good care matters.

Families need carers who can provide practical support with personal care and hygiene, but who also go further. They need people who offer reassurance, patience, dignity and a steady presence.

Choosing a carer is not simply a practical decision. It is an emotional one, built around personality, competence, understanding and trust.

AtHome was created to give families more choice, greater control and better value when arranging care at home.

Our service is designed to reduce unnecessary overheads, helping families make their care budgets go further while allowing carers to receive fair rates for the work they provide.

Through our easy-to-use online dashboard, families can view and compare selected carer profiles, making it easier to choose someone who feels right for their loved one. Carers complete identity, right-to-work and relevant criminal-record checks as part of our onboarding process, together with other checks appropriate to their role and location.

I personally developed the AtHome service model and matching-dashboard concept alongside experienced and pioneering IT specialists. It took years of work, personal input, systems development and practical experience to build a service that gives families a more direct and flexible way to arrange care, while still providing guidance and support throughout the process.

You should not have to choose between receiving a supportive service and paying a fair price. AtHome is designed to offer both.

The wider care sector is increasingly recognising the value of greater client choice, direct engagement and properly structured arrangements with self-employed care professionals. I am proud that AtHome has helped demonstrate how this approach can work when it is supported by careful onboarding, clear systems and genuine family involvement.

Alongside leading AtHome, I also work as a freelance consultant with businesses and investors who want to better understand the UK care sector and the practical challenges faced by families, carers and care organisations. My aim is to use that insight to help improve the way care is understood and delivered.

By sharing what I have learned through both my personal and professional journey, my aim is simple: to help more families choose their own carers with confidence, receive a supportive service and understand what they are paying for at a fair and transparent price.

I hope you will trust AtHome to support your family in finding the right care. If you would like to talk through the options you are considering, please give me a call.

What sort of care can I find with AtHome?

Everyone’s needs are different, everyone’s budgets are different and everyone’s circumstances are different.

As a person seeking or needing care or support, you understand what your require, when you want it and what your budget is. With AtHome, clients are 100% in control and can choose the level of care & support required. Choose from approved companions, and carers who can help with everyday tasks, from basic day-to-day support, loneliness, and supporting a young person, or an elderly person with Dementia, to end-of-life care.

We are an introduction agency, so what does that mean?

We introduce self-employed carers, companions & PA’s to clients looking for care.

Why are our costs different?

We offer real value. We make accessing care & support a fair and reasonable price.

Many agencies charge a ‘‘registration fee’’ and can charge up to 60% in fees to place your carer; We don’t - It is FREE to register with us for everyone and our support fee is ultra low. We want to ensure all carers earn a fair wage, so our fees are ultra-low, which enables us to operate efficiently and pass those savings to our clients, so you receive support from us when you need it, pay less and can select from over 1500 carers registered with us.

Why does this matter?

The more the agency charges, the less your carer will keep and the more you have to pay to attract the right person.

To forge and maintain happy and productive relationships between carers, companions and PA’s with clients and their families, we believe fair carer pay is essential for the great work they do, but we don’t expect the client to pay more - we just ensure we can offer the service for less.

The vast majority of individuals join caring as a passion, but ensuring your chosen carer is getting the best pay, means you are likely to attract a highly committed individual who is loyal and reliable.

How do you manage to reduce your costs so much?

We have streamlined compared to the rest of the UK care industry. We have minimized the unnecessary paperwork among many other cost savings, which are then passed on to you, the client.

Our methods save time and costs and we pass this directly to clients and workers. It also means a quicker, more accessible workforce is available to our clients at the point of need, but you still benefit from our support.

AtHome is revolutionary; with our bespoke software we can really make a difference for people needing access to care in the UK.

We want to help you source the best care at the best price without compromise.
