Hourly Care

Hourly care is also called domiciliary care, visiting care, drop-in or pop-in care

Hourly care generally involves a carer attending to a client’s home at specific times during the day for short periods to help with tasks that may have become too difficult to do alone. A short care visit is provided between agreed hours by a local carer, sometimes called PA’s or micro-providers, who live locally.

Some benefits of daily care may include:

  • Access to a small team of dedicated carers who rotate their attendance to the client

  • The same person provides the care for continuity, or perhaps a team of the same carers

  • Help with tasks around the home

  • Assistance with personal care

  • Providing Meals

  • Checking in with a vulnerable person

  • Peace of mind for relatives who may live with their loved ones but work during the day

  • Respite break cover for a live-in carer or a family member

Usually, clients will require a visit more than once a day, sometimes several visits a day, for a few days, or every day each week.  At this point, if 4 or more visits are required, or teh care needs are becoming more complex, it may be advisable to consider teh benefits of a live-in carer at this point as the budgets for this carer may be comparable. If you would like to discuss this, please email hello@athomecaregroup.co.uk

An Hourly care service can also be used to support those who have more complex needs, where two carers may be required at certain times of the day to provide the right care, whether this is during the day, evening or the night.
