YOUR DBS

What is a DBS CHECK?

Employers can check the criminal record of someone applying for a role. This is known as getting a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

You can request a more detailed check for certain roles, for example in healthcare or childcare.

Types of checks?

AtHome requires a basic DBS check or above for COMPANIONS - you can apply for a BASIC DBS CHECK HERE

If you are offering any other service other than just companionship you will need an ENHANCED DBS check CLICK HERE to apply for an ENHANCED DBS check if you do not already have one.

An enhanced check with barred lists is also accepted, showing the same as an enhanced check plus whether the applicant is on the list of people barred from doing the role.

If my DBS is not clean, can I still join AtHome?

You can still join our portal if your DBS has disclosures. Clients will then assess your DBS and any disclosures directly before they engage you.

When does it expire?

A DBS check has no official expiry date. Any information included will be accurate at the time the check was carried out. It’s up to you to decide when a new check is needed.
